China Day23 Guangzhou

We started the day with Dim Sum at 8am at Dian Dou De

Canton is known for its Dim Sum and Dian Dou De locally so. Also famous for its snake and scorpion soup, although we gave that a miss

Dim Sum was similar to London though prawns bigger in Har Kow, Siu Mei, and particularly tasty glutinous rice in lotus leaf and lovely Char siu Bao. Very nice chilli sauce with black bean, and washed down with many cups of Pu Erh.

Interestingly served the “traditional“ way with small teapot, sieve and second teapot/jug into which you decant the brewed tea for pouring, leaving the leaves “dry” before rebrewing, and repeat

The hotel (when found) was centrally located near Beijing Street Pedestrian Area

Raining today so wandered the shops (similar to Malaysia to be honest) and packed for the journey onwards to Malaysia

Had early supper at Chua Lam’s, very simple but nice clay pot, beef and spring onion, and dried meat (Chinese sausage) rice and fried lettuce with Tow Wa for after to please Ying

Afterwards walked back via the backstreets

Looks like it’s trying to gentrify…

Not quite sure what has happened to his motorbike, first saw pliers, then hammer, then cleaver!!!
